The Colour Green

The Colour Green

"Colour is a power which directly influences the soul"
- Wassily Kandinsky

It’s remarkable how something as seemingly simple as a colour can hold such significance and influence over our lives. Green, for instance, is a colour that carries a lifetime of memories and, over time, has quietly woven its way into our story.
My grandfather Jack (Daphne’s husband) had the truest green thumb, and a love for the colour that went far beyond the garden. Everything was painted in that same shade of green, their house, his shed, even the handles of his tools and wheelbarrow. Every piece perfectly matching, lined neatly on his pegboard wall, polished and cared for.

Since his passing, we’ve renovated our home, and it wasn’t until some time later that we realised just how much green had quietly found its way in, our front door, our letterbox, our entryway.

When we launched Daphne’s, we chose green as our brand colour, unknowingly following the same trend. It’s incredible how something as simple as a colour can carry memory, shape the spaces we live in, and connect generations long after they’re gone.
