The Chewing Gum Hatby Lola Hats s a take on the classic fedora hat, with a brim large enough to provide plenty of sun protection. After the raffia tape is stitched into shape, the hat is dunked into a bucket of water, soaked overnight, and then moulded and pressed. Once dried, it becomes soft and pliable with striations of colour that are unique to each hat. The Chewing Gum is ideal for traveling as it can take endless abuse without losing its nonchalant charm. Floppy and unstructured, the hat tends to fit loosely.
Lola Hatswas first established in 1989 in a small storefront in the East Village of New York. Designer and founder, Lola Ehrilich, draws upon her bohemian upbringing for inspiration, born in Holland, then raised in Paris before moving to New York in adulthood. All hats are made by hand in Lola's New York studio by her small team of skilled artisans. Lola believes in taking the time and care to make something unique that will bring happiness to the people who will wear it for many many years to come.
