Long Handle Basket Bag - Open Weave

A beautifully soft, handwoven shoulder bag in durable elephant grass, finished with smooth leather straps and a top closure. Made by skilled artisans near the village of Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana, where elephant grass grows along the flood plains of the White Volta River.

The leather handles are long enough to sit comfortably on the shoulder, and a simple leather clasp keeps your belongings secure. Elephant grass is a fully sustainable natural fibre: once harvested it is dried, dyed by boiling, then split and rolled to build strength and flexibility.

Dimensions: Approx. 47cm (L) x 16cm (W) x 28cm (H), not including handles. Handle length 40cm.

Care: Gently clean with a soft damp cloth or brush. To reshape, submerge in water briefly, reshape, then air dry in the shade. Leather conditioner may be used on the handles.
