Handwoven in Northern Ghana from sustainable, natural elephant grass, this basket carries the quiet skill of the women who make it. Each piece takes its own shape as it is woven, so no two are ever quite the same. A black satin ribbon is tied around the leather handle, and the basket sits generously at around 48cm wide and 30cm high excluding the handle, a size built for market trips, beach days and the odd overflowing linen pile in between.
Clean with a soft damp cloth or brush. If it loses its shape, submerge briefly in water before reshaping and drying in the shade. Leather conditioner keeps the handle supple over time.
